Welcome Everyone!
I am Meredith Valenzuela,
data engineer,
passionate educator,
and a results-focused data enthusiast.
And, I am excited to promote the use of data analytics in your daily work and/or organization.
I love every step of the analytics process from the data collection, cleansing, transformation, modeling, visualization, and interpretation.
I like to think of myself as a storyteller, someone who can tell a story from numbers, uncover plots, illustrate insights, and influence an audience (businesses).
Other days, I am a detective. My objective is to uncover facts by sorting through multiple pieces of information to get to an answer.
My primary goal is to reveal patterns to help companies make strategic business decisions and solve problems.
You, too, can create this type of magic.
I started We are Analytical to enable individuals to elevate their skillset.
Data is needed in almost all industries, and I am here to show you how you can boost your professional skills by working with data.
Overall, I’m a lady from a small town that enjoys family, dogs, nature, … and data (of course).
I look forward to partnering with you to seize the data!
Best,
Education & Career
I received my B.S. in Statistics from the
Also, I obtained a M.S in Information Technology with a Data Science Concentration from California State University, Fullerton (CSU Fullerton). At CSU Fullerton, I learned to articulate strategies and methods that allow for the effective use and management of data storage and analytics within an organization.
I have successful data analytics experience in the public and private sectors.
As a data engineer in the private sector, I automate data extracts, prepare calculated fields into usable data marts/tables and utilize visualization tools that provide insights and statistical views for daily decision-making.
In the education sector as a data analyst, I focused on platform innovation of an analytics platform that supported 47 school districts. I established new client onboarding processes that standardized data into a data warehouse and provided thorough data quality assurance to ensure metrics were error-free and met the stakeholder requirements.
Additionally, I provided data reporting to support continuous improvement efforts and assist in identifying strengths, challenges, and areas needing improvement.
And lastly, I am an educator. Prior to starting my analytical career, I worked as a high school teacher teaching statistics and mathematics.
